A Technical Programme That Showcases Mobility’s Future Today

The technical presentations, Special Interest Sessions (SIS) and Special Future Sessions (SFS) at the Congress will explore the latest advancements in mobility, particularly focusing on Automated Mobility, Innovation in Mobility & Logistics, Clean Mobility, and Urban Mobility. These sessions will explore how ITS is driving the future of mobility in diverse and impactful ways.

The Urban Mobility topic will explore key areas shaping the future of transportation in cities, focusing on regulatory challenges for transport authorities, the need for a seamless travel experience from the user perspective, and the pursuit of safe, clean, and efficient transport systems. Discussions will also cover the deployment of multimodal networks, the role of data and digital transformation, and the integration of connected vehicles. The importance of smart infrastructure and next-generation urban traffic management systems will also be explored emphasizing innovation, collaboration, and sustainable strategies to enhance urban mobility.

Some of the aspects covered under the topic of Innovation in Mobility and Transport will include leveraging big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning to optimize transport systems and enhance decision-making, along with the role of cybersecurity in protecting transportation networks. Discussions will include innovative first and last mile solutions to bridge gaps in urban mobility, and strategies for smart freight movement to increase efficiency. Advancements across all transport modes—road, air, rail, and waterborne—and beyond, emphasizing the role of connectivity and communication technologies in creating integrated, resilient, and future-ready mobility networks, will be discussed.

The topic of Clean Mobility will explore systems and solutions that support the development of sustainable cities through electrification, alternative fuels, and energy-efficient systems. It will explore the challenges of adopting clean mobility schemes, including infrastructure, cost, and public acceptance. Discussions will also address innovative business models that can drive the transition to greener transport, alongside the importance of life-cycle assessments to evaluate the environmental impact of various mobility solutions. The focus of many sessions will be on how clean mobility can balance sustainability with practicality and economic viability.

The topic of Automated Mobility will have sessions exploring the regulatory and governance frameworks needed to support the growth of automated transport across air, rail, and waterborne sectors. There will be a focus on the development and deployment of safe and resilient autonomous systems, high-definition mapping, and the critical role of connectivity and communication technologies. The discussions will also cover innovative business models driving automated mobility, alongside the importance of impact assessments to gauge societal, environmental, and economic effects.

Adding a visionary dimension to the programme, the new Strategic Future Sessions (SFS) will adopt a forward-looking approach to explore upcoming challenges and opportunities. These sessions will address issues such as developing a global connected ITS service and integrating low-level air traffic management, such as drones, with ground traffic systems.

Engage with Remarkable Speakers in the High-Level Programme

The High Level Programme at the Congress will feature influential industry speakers and renowned experts from the global ITS community. Plenary sessions will bring together global panellists and keynote speakers from various sectors to explore cross-domain topics, the latest innovations, and the challenges to progress. Key discussions will include:

  • Digitalisation – What can mobility users expect?
  • Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility: How green can you go?
  • Integrating road, rail, air, and waterborne transport – Multimodality by any means?
  • Managing urban mobility space – What will future cities look like?
