What is the 2024 ITS World Congress about?

The 30th ITS World Congress in Dubai is organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe with the support of RTA Dubai as the Host. 

The mission of the ITS Congresses is to raise awareness of smart mobility solutions among policymakers, experts and the general public. The ITS Congresses feature dynamic discussions with ITS specialists, across a top-notch high level programme, over 200 technical sessions, as well as an international exhibition and demonstration area.

Who are the organisers of the 2024 ITS World Congress and Exhibition?
What is the location of the 2024 ITS World Congress and Exhibition?

The 2024 ITS World Congress and Exhibition will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai’s epicentre for events and business in the heart of the city. It has played a pivotal role in the growth of Dubai’s business tourism and trade since its inauguration in 1979.

How do I get to the Congress and Exhibition venue?

Dubai’s self-driving metro system reaches the Dubai World Trade Centre from key city locations. It offers quick, efficient, and fully air-conditioned rides with frequent service from 5 am to 11 pm. Obtain a Nol Card at any station for easy access by swiping at the platform entrance.

Where are the sessions organised?

The names of the rooms where the sessions will be organised will feature in the programme during Spring 2024: https://itsworldcongress.com 

Will there be a congress app?

Yes, this will be launched mid-August 2024 and accessible to every registered participant, who will receive specific instructions on their mailbox.

When will I be notified of the status of my paper's or session's proposal?

Status notification to submitters will be sent from April 2024 with details about the next steps. Submitters will be notified to update their proposals closer to the Congress date. Guidelines on the sessions will also be sent in due course.

Do I have to register to the Congress

All Congress participants, including delegates, speakers, moderators, exhibitors, students and visitors must register and pay the appropriate Congress fee. More information will be available soon. 

How can I register to the Congress?

Registrations will open on 21 March 2024. 

What is the difference between Visitor, Full Congress Week Delegate, Full Congress Week Speaker, Full Congress week Moderatior, Full Congress Week Exhibitor, and Full Congress Week Student badge?

With a Full Congress Delegate/Speaker/Moderator Badge you have access to: 

  • the Plenary Sessions and Opening & Closing Ceremonies 
  • the Full Congress Sessions and Programme 
  • the Exhibition and Demonstrations during the full ITS Congress duration 
  • the coffee breaks & lunch every day

I wish to register to the ITS World Congress and would require a visa support letter. Can you send me one?

To receive your visa support letter, we kindly ask you to first register and pay for your registration. Once we have received your registration fee on the bank account, you will receive your visa support letter. Should you have been denied your visa, a reimbursement can be made. 

What are your payment options?

What are your cancellation and transfer conditions for Delegates, Students, Exhibitors & Visitors?

The event licensing rules of the Government of Dubai require event organisers to obtain a speaker permit for all presenters participating in the 2024 ITS World Congress 60 days prior to the event.

​​​​​​It is the responsibility of all presenters (speakers and moderators) to ensure the submission of the required details. ​​​​​​​Without a speaker permit, presenters will not be able to participate, and the presentation slot will have to be cancelled.

Until 31 July 2024, upon cancellation, the full amount will be refunded minus a €100 cancellation fee*. 

From 1 August until 16 August 2024: refunds for cancellations are no longer possible, however transfer of registration may be accommodated to another participant/speaker/moderator from the same company. A €50 admin fee will be charged.* 
 

*Please note that all admin and cancellation fees exclude applicable VAT and exclude any and all transfer costs which shall be fully borne by the participant.

If I book my Congress ticket online, how do I collect my badge?

One week before Congress, you will receive a dedicated email with your personal barcode. Please save this email on your phone or print this out and bring it with you onsite to print your access badge. 

Where can I review my registration information?

You will find your registration overview and receipt by clicking on the link in your confirmation email and logging in with the email address that you registered with.

Can I register and buy a ticket at the event?

Yes, onsite registration is possible, however the cost will be higher, and payment can only be done via credit card. No wire transfer or cash will be accepted.

I would like to register a group of more than 10 participants, could you kindly assist?

If you wish to register a group of 10 persons or more, you will be able to book your tickets as a group leader for a 75 administration fee. We will ask you, as group leader, how many tickets you wish to purchase per category. Once the tickets are selected and the invoice is paid, you will receive the dedicated link and discount code to the selected categories. You can then send the link and category to each of the persons of your group so he/she can register. 

If I lose my badge, where can I get a replacement?

Your badge can be re-printed at the Registration Helpdesk for a 50 charge, to be paid onsite via credit card

I have special accessibility needs/dietary requirements; can you accommodate me?

Yes, during registration, you may enter any special accessibility needs or dietary requirements in the designated fields. The Congress organiser will contact you closer to the event date to assist you in any possible way.

Is there a cloakroom available onsite?

Unfortunately, we do not offer cloakroom facilities at this location.

Is there a dress code for the event?

Even though there is no mandatory dress code, as the 2024 ITS World Congress and Exhibition is an event with many parties from different sectors and countries, we kindly ask you to dress appropriately as a show of respect to all participants of the event.  

The general rule regarding dressing in public in Dubai is to wear clothing that covers your shoulders and your knees. It is best to refrain from wearing clothing that is too tight or too revealing for both men and women. It is a good idea to carry a light sweater or shawl when going out in public places. 

Is there a preferred accommodation I can book?

Yes, discounted room rates have been negotiated for you at selected hotels in Dubai.

What do the organisers do for sustainability matters?

We are proud to announce that the 2024 ITS World Congress will be supporting the Safe Water Project in Developing African Countries. 

The carbon offset project we have selected is investing in reparation of damaged wells as well as drilling new ones and maintaining them in the long run. These wells provide clean water that can be accessed through a borehole. The detailed project description is available here.
