Finally, Friday’s agenda is dedicated to Innovation in Mobility and Logistics, with sessions exploring ground-breaking approaches addressing transport challenges and advancing the mobility landscape.
In TP 35 (Heavy vehicle mobility initiatives) Paper 351 describes a new way of assessing proposals to introduce intelligent lane management to alleviate traffic congestion involving trucks. An innovative simulation process allows not just evaluation of the impact of proposed measures on traffic congestion but also feedback from drivers to network managers.
SIS 93 (Cooperative ITS for safe and sustainable transport) provides a global review of the status of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems. C-ITS technology enables road users and infrastructure to share information about road conditions, disruptions, traffic flow and safety incidents leading to significant safety benefits by detecting and providing advanced warning to drivers to prevent incidents and improve efficiency of transport networks.
SIS 85 (Advanced multimodal network and traffic management) addresses barriers to the provision of safe, resilient and smart mobility for both passengers and goods such as lack of integration, appropriate management policies and supportive governance models. The session aims to present the latest research on effective approaches and methodologies to enable optimised traffic management and seamless mobility of passenger and goods as a part of wider interoperability in a multimodal transport ecosystem.
As we conclude this series of overviews, we warmly invite you to immerse yourself in the rich, diverse, and multifaceted landscape of Congress Programme activities. From envisioning AI-driven solutions to addressing cybersecurity challenges and promoting sustainable practices, each session provides a window into the pioneering advancements in intelligent transport systems. These overviews stand as invaluable resources, aiding attendees in organising and preparing for their time at the Congress.
