CCAM: More than the sum of its parts

The focus of this webinar series is on the 2024 ITS World Congress, which will take place in Dubai on 16-20 September under the theme of  ‘Mobility Driven by ITS’. The webinars will cover this year’s Congress topics: Urban Mobility, Clean Mobility, Automated Mobility, and Innovation in Mobility & Logistics.  

The series will offer audiences a glimpse into the diverse and intriguing topics showcased at the Congress, featuring panel discussions, technical presentations, exhibitions, and more. The ITS Community will also have the chance to interact with some of the influential innovators who will be bringing their ideas and solutions to the Congress in Dubai. 

The third webinar will take place on Thursday 27 June, 14:00-15:00 CEST on the topic of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM). 

Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) encompasses a range of technologies that connect and automate transportation systems, promising to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in urban and rural environments. To realize its full potential, a number of key elements must be well aligned and remaining challenges must be addressed: technological integration of diverse systems ensuring interoperability, trust, and reliability; infrastructure modernisation necessitating investment and coordinated efforts between public and private sectors; establishing comprehensive legal frameworks balancing innovation with public safety and privacy concerns; ensuring robust cybersecurity measures to protect vehicles and infrastructure from malicious activities; and gaining public trust and buy-in through co-creation, transparent communication and demonstration of CCAM’s benefits.
