Transport Canada Welcomes 2017 ITS World Congress to Montréal
Transport Canada is pleased to welcome the 2017 ITS America World Congress to the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The ITS World Congress is one of the premier events in the field of Intelligent Transportation.
The 2017 ITS World Congress begins October 29th and concludes on November 2nd. It’s the premier event in the field of Intelligent Transportation. The ITS World Congress brings together the intelligent transportation community to collaborate and discuss the future of reliability, safety, equal access and dynamic user experience as it relates to integrated mobility innovations and transportation advances that are poised to transform transportation logistics.
At a time when intelligent transportation and autonomous vehicles are at the forefront of our future transportation systems, the ITS World Congress will offer cutting-edge keynotes and educational programming presented by intelligent transportation subject matter experts from around the world. It is a “must attend” event for professionals in the transportation industry.
Confirmed speakers include Canada’s Minister of Transport, the Honourable Marc Garneau, U.S. National Transportation Safety Board Member, former Chairman Christopher Hart, and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder.
Minister Garneau, will speak at the ITS World Congress on October 31 at 11:15 a.m., to share his vision and plan for Canada’s transportation system through Transportation 2030. In his position as Minister of Transport, he has emphasized the critical role played by intelligent transportation and worked diligently to put forth his strategic vision for transportation in Canada.
The Smart Cities Pavilion is the centerpiece of the World Congress, and it will highlight how technology is addressing many of the challenges cities face as they grow, and as the demands for services increase and evolve. Five cities, including the host city of Montréal are participating in the Smart Cities Pavilion.
The exhibit floor will showcase technology at the core of intelligent transportation, autonomous and connected vehicles, and infrastructure improvements that have Intelligent Transportation as a focal point.
